What would you put on the floating shelves above the stove?

One of my DDILs had something similar. She had a few cookbooks and some antique glassware that she collected over the years. I love the window over the sink. That's something I miss living in this apartment

I wouldn’t put anything flammable or breakable. Or anything I'd use often and have to reach for.

My DD has floating shelves too. She got some of my Mom's old cookbooks and a old sifter, my Aunt's gravy boat. I bought her a couple of fake vining plants that she put off to the side and it turned out so nice!

That would look pretty...but eventually whatever you put there will have some cooking odors, etc. But, I do love the cook book, pretty plate, dish...I think your idea would look great.

Yes cooking odors and grime will be an issue since there is no hood vent. Whatever goes there will be washable. I like the kitchen window. Harry says the sink should be centered under the sink and the stove shouldn't be in front of the window. That all happened when they renovated the kitchen. Harry thinks we should put in a narrower window over the sink and add a cabinet or a hood vent. I don't mind the big window.

Leave the big window!! If you could put a large flower/plant by the right of the stove it may balance it out!!
